Breaking: Liverpool signs Hungarian goalkeeper in club record deal

Premier League giants Liverpool FC have officially signed Hungarian goalkeeper Ărmin PĂ©csi from PuskĂĄs AkadĂ©mia, the Hungarian club announced this week. The 20-year-old talent joins the English champions after completing his medical and signing his contract with the Reds.
According to Puskås Akadémia, the transfer fee paid by Liverpool represents a club record for the Hungarian side, though the exact amount was not disclosed.
âThis club raised me, here I became a top-flight footballer and a professional player,â PĂ©csi said in an emotional farewell message. âIâm incredibly grateful to everyone who helped me during my academy yearsâespecially my goalkeeper coaches and former trainers. Iâm taking only good memories with me from both the youth and senior teams. This opportunity was simply too big to pass up.â

PĂ©csi had an outstanding season with PuskĂĄs AkadĂ©mia, making 30 appearances in Hungaryâs top league and keeping nine clean sheets, helping his team secure a second-place finish. He made his senior debut earlier this year, on February 4, after progressing through every youth level since joining the academy in 2017.
His performances have also earned him a spot among the top 100 U21 players in Europe. With a Football Benchmark Golden Boy Index score of 67.9, PĂ©csi ranks 47th on the prestigious list for players born after 1 January 2004, just behind names like Barcelonaâs rising star Lamine Yamal.
